Escape the city and immerse yourself in the natural landscapes of inland Castellón on this day trip from Valencia to Montanejos. Surrounded by mountains, rivers and gorges, this destination is perfect for travelers looking for an easy hiking experience combined with beautiful scenery, natural pools with hot springs, caves, waterfalls and river canyons.
The activity begins with a scenic hiking route along the Mijares River. During the walk, you will discover iconic places such as the Chillapájaros Gorge, a narrow and dramatic section of the river, and the Black Cave, one of the largest caves in the region . Along the way, your guide will help you discover the local flora and fauna while enjoying a peaceful natural environment far from the city.
After the hike, you will have free time to enjoy the hot springs of Montanejos, famous for their therapeutic properties and for flowing at a constant temperature of around 25°C all year round.
*Please note that the hot spring water mixes with the river water upstream, so the temperature may feel cool. You are welcome to bring your swimsuit and towel if you wish to swim but don’t expect the water to be hot. Some people swim in winter.
In addition to this, you will visit one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the area, located in the Salto de la Novia nature reserve, the perfect way to complete a day surrounded by nature.
You can join a small shared group of 4 to 8 travelers or book a private tour for a more personalized experience.

The hike lasts approximately two hours at a relaxed pace. A basic level of fitness and agility is required, as the route follows mountain trails and uneven terrain. However, if you do not want to join the hiking route and prefer to spend more time by the river or in the village, you can also join the tour.
